As we continue to meet New York State Regulations, our Preschool Program is mainly derived from The Creative Curriculum. We assess our children using the Developmental Continuum, specifically designed for preschoolers, which focuses on social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language development
We would also like to share part of our Philosophy of Education to show other areas of developmental we feel are important:
"Our curriculum sets the stage for challenging and fulfilling learning experiences in early literacy, math, science, social studies and the arts. However, to allow these learning experiences to transpire, our underlying focus will be on providing an environment that is nurturing, safe, healthy, flexible and exciting. Kids have a voice at Pave The Way not only because we agree that they should, but to help them develop a positive self-esteem and confidence for their future happiness. As role models for our toddlers and preschoolers, we will teach mutual respect and celebrate the differences in our diverse society
We also have an exciting opportunity as a smaller center to meet individual needs by forming meaningful relationships with each child. As we assess the children’s abilities, we will build on their strengths to support their academic and social development. Our ultimate goal is to create a community of life-long learners who have tapped into their inner happiness at a very early age. Throughout the year, we will adjust our teaching based on the children’s new interests and add appropriate responsibilities to help them continue to develop confidence and a high self-esteem..."
